Our Philosophy

We believe that each child is an unique individual. We also know that children develop at different times, and grow and change at varied rates. We understand that children move into new stages of growth and development only when they are "ready", which means that they have mastered a necessary previous stage. For this reason, our program is designed to meet each child at his/her own development level, and allows each child to proceed at his/her own rate. You will find that our program provides many opportunities for children to practice and repeat successful activities as well as face new challenges.

In our preschool environment, you will find a comfortable balance of carefully planned learning opportunities. Each teacher brings to the classroom their own unique style of teaching, just as each child has their own unique style of learning. The total environment - physical setting, teacher, equipment, curriculum and time structure - is designed to communicate a feeling of welcome, acceptance, safety and security to young children.

We believe in the growth of the whole child involving the following developmental areas:


Social/Emotional – Sharing, taking turns, concern for others, appropriate expression of feelings, making new friends.


Creative Academics – Art activities, play, teacher guided learning activities, field trips to extend learning.


Physical, Large Motor – climbing, hopping, running, jumping.


Physical, Small Motor – puzzles, manipulative toys, play dough.


We believe that exposure to each of these areas develops self confidence and forms a foundation for later success in school.
